Opening – and title – track Western Star is a first-rate trucker’s track, but the call of the beckoning star will also find empathy with travellers from gypsies to grey nomads. My Old Outback Home calls the traveller back home. Pete brings the unique characters of the outback alive with Dusty Old Time Ringer; an excellently crafted classic style ballad with a yodel. Where The Thompson River Flows is another excellent track with the distinctive time-honoured flavour that is our country heritage. Pete Smith is what is the best of what makes our traditional Australian country music unique."
